In this role you will need to provide legal services to both South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils and to lead and supervise a team within the specialist legal services area
• Advise on all legal matters arising from the councils' functions
• Advise on licensing matters and appeals
• Assist the information governance team with advice relation to information law, RIPA and Surveillance Commissioner
• Handle complex criminal and civil litigation work arising out of all the councils’ functions including prosecutions, appeals and inquiries
• Handle, work in partnership with, and - where appropriate - instruct external solicitors and counsel on major litigation matters, including judicial reviews and complex civil and criminal litigation matters
